age 78, of Amberg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday November 30, 2017, at Bellin Hospital. She was born in Amberg on December 18, 1938; daughter of the late Dwight and Mildred (Anderson) Holmes. Karen was united in marriage to Robert Deau on February 15, 1958. She played basketball in High School, along with cheerleading and was the Class Valedictorian. Karen enjoyed people, food, music and playing musical instruments such as the piano at church, guitar and accordion. Also playing board games and card games kept her mind sharp. In her earlier years she loved cooking. Most importantly, Karen enjoyed time spent with her family and friends.
Karen is survived by her husband Robert; four children: Robert Deau Jr., Linda (Chris) Schoon, Lori Jones and Bradley (Joyce) Deau; three grandchildren: Steven and Nicole Deau, and Aimee Jones; great grandchild, Jamee Drane; two siblings: Leatha Sokolowski and Ronald (Margery) Holmes; and further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald.
Family and friends may call on Friday December 8, 2017, at Roubal Funeral Home from 3pm to 6pm and again on Saturday December 9, at United Presbyterian Church in Amberg from 10am until the Funeral Service at 11am. Pastor Don Landwehr will officiate. Burial will be in the Amberg Cemetery.
