Obituary Notice

Emil William Seehawer

Emil "Skip" William Seehawer,  was released from his pain on December 13, 2010 at the age of 56, after a nearly two year struggle with liver cancer. He fought with dignity and humor at his home by his beloved lake.

He was born in Menominee, Michigan on February 15, 1954, to Sheldon and Lois (Tachick) Seehawer.  Skip lived his whole life in the Athelstane area where he graduated from Wausaukee High School. He worked as a self-employed logger for many years and later as an owner operated cross country truck driver.

As a teenager he, along with his father, uncle, cousins and a few friends, made a first time in the the Country trek from Athelstane to Yellowstone Park on snowmobiles. He got his pilot's license as a young man, drove race cars, every kind of logging equipment, motorcycles, just about anything with an engine and could fix them all.

He grew up with Wisconsin hunting and fishing and his great sense of adventure took him to big game hunting and fishing in Alaska and Canada. He was very proud of his numerous trophy mounts of moose, deer, caribou, buffalo, elk, wild boar and game fish. He went on many hunts in wilderness back woods country with family and friends and taught his brothers and grandchildren about hunting and surviving in the wilderness.

Skip was survived by his mother, Lois Seehawer of Athelstane, daughter, Summer (Cory) Seehawer-Schmidt of Hillpoint, Wisconsin, grandchildren, who were the greatest joy in his life; Killian Eggert, Rylee Hajos, Tristen and Aiden Schmidt, four sisters and 2 brothers; Cindy (Russ) Seehawer of Little Suamico, Wisconsin, Jack(Wendy) Seehawer of Amberg, Wisconsin, Patti (Butch) Wortner of Peshtigo, Wisconsin, Shelli (Craig) Derouin, of Allenton, Wisconsin, Debbie (Jim) Unger of Athelstane, Wisconsin and Kenny (Tamie) Seehawer of Athelstane, Wisconsin, Special friend, Anita Tadisch of Marinette, Wisconsin and her three sons; Joe, Adam and Michael, many other nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sheldon and daughter, Sybil.
