Vinceann Ellen Duda
Vinceann Ellen Duda, 73, of Goodman, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Friday, December 3, 2010, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain, Michigan. She was born April 4, 1937, in Chicago, the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Chippetta) Pellegrino. After graduating Providence Catholic High School in Chicago she attended nursing school at St. Vincent's. After nursing school, she worked at St. Vicent's caring for babies. She met her future husband,Jack C. Duda in Chicago while he was serving in the Navy. They were married on December 21, 1957, at St. Philomena Church, in Chicago. She has resided in Goodman for the past 45 years, where they farmed together for 37 years. She also worked for the Goodman-Armstrong Creek School District for over 25 years as an aide, secretary and in food service. She retired in 2007. Vinnie enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was active at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church as a teacher of Faith Formation Classes, a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Ladies of the Cross. She was active in volunteering in the Goodman-Armstrong Creek community. She was volunteering at the local blood drive when she had her aneurysm. Vinnie was also active in the Red hats and VFW Auxillary 7444, Armstrong Creek. She will be remembered for her compassion for caring for others and giving of herself with her unconditional love. She has made numerous crafts and also crocheted many items for her family and friends.
She leaves behind her beloved husband Jack, sister, Rosalie Wesolowski of Elmwood Park, IL, children; Jack Duda II of Goodman, Peggy (Tim) Hawley of Appleton, Joe Duda of Seymour, Glenn Duda of Green Bay, Charles(Roxanne) Duda of Marinette, and Frank Duda of Lena, grandchildren; Sarah Hawley Selig, Brian Hawley , Bethany Hawley , Shawn Hawley , Justin (Maria) Duda , Casey Duda , Abigail Duda , Ashley Duda, great grandchildren; Arianna Selig, Eva Selig , Christopher Selig, Gabriela Sanchez, and Jaylee Duda.
She was preceded in death by her father Charles Pellegrino, her mother Helen Chippetto, and her son Dennis Duda.
Visitation will be held at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, Armstrong Creek on Friday, December 10, 2010 from 9:00-11:00 am, with a funeral mass to follow at 11:00 am. Monsignor Paul Koszarek officiating.
In leiu of flowers a Memorial fund at Bank North has been established to benefit the Goodman-Armstrong Creek Elementary School.
